Blend It All!

Blended learning is an education program that combines online digital media with traditional classroom methods. Blendspace is one of many websites that allows us to deal with blended learning. Well, I ever made a project with blendspace once. At the moment, I pretended to be a speaking class teacher for 9 graders, teaching how to be a good public speaker. This activity is designed to help students practice speaking, reading, listening, and writing as well. When the students had done this activity, they will know how to be the best speaker, not only good. It is important for them to learn something like this since the ability to deliver a good speech can increase the percentage of their success.

In my activity, the first thing my students had done is read the information from the first 2 websites then discuss with a friend next to them. They should discuss whether the list on the website is correct or is there any tips left according to them. I gived them about 30 minutes to read and discuss both of the websites. Next is watched the video. I ask them to do the quiz after they have watched the video which I had played twice in front of the class. It took around 30 minutes to finish the second activity. Later on, I asked 2-3 of my students to show the class what is an appropriate body language when a speaker goes on the stage. This took approximately 20 minutes. Before the class finished, I had asked the student to do the exercise that I give in the blandspace.

When I made the blendspace, I met some difficulties. One of them is because of the internet connection. It made me couldn't find the website that I want to put on the slide. So, attention to teachers, you need to have a good internet connection if you want to use blendspace.
